The Ka 1 was the first glider of the aircraft manufacturer Rudolf Kaiser. He constructed it during his student days at the State Engineering School in Coburg between 1950 and 1952 and built the first prototype at home. The first flight took place in 1952 on the Wasserkuppe in Easter.
